In the Spanish context, an osteopath is a university-graduated physiotherapist who has received complete training in osteopathy, lasting an average of five years, at an official school.
This is a comprehensive treatment method that seeks the cause or origin of the problem, without focusing only on the symptom. We can find structural, cranial and visceral osteopathy, which allows us to approach the patient holistically through manual techniques to regulate and help the system balance homeostasis. We work with structural, visceral and cranial osteopathy.
We also find pediatric osteopathy, focused on infant problems, such as plagiocephaly, colic, reflux or irritability, among others.
*For information on professional osteopaths, please consult the Register of Osteopath Physiotherapists of Spain (ROFE). This association brings together osteopathy professionals whose academic level is in line with the European regulations established by the European Federation of Osteopathy, where you can find our director, Alexandra de la Mata López.
